01 · The artist
A bassist who started writing songs at the back of the stage, and never went back.
Sahil Uprety is a bassist and emerging solo artist whose work threads contemporary Nepali songwriting through warm, low-light arrangements — a quiet voice in a generation refusing to choose between heritage and the next thing.
You can hear him most nights inside Sajjan Raj Vaidya’s touring band — the slow, low foundation that lets the front of the stage burn. His own work began appearing in 2024; what arrives next is being built late, after the lights go down, in the same patient register.
